Bicentennial Coins Worth Saving?

Are circulated 1976 bicentennial US coins worth saving? Are they ever going to be worth more due to their novelty? Or are there just too many of them in circulation for their value to ever be above normal coinage? I've been setting them aside, but am I just wasting my time?

Thanks for any feedback!

I'd have to guess no.....the listed mintages were almost 2b for the quarter and >500m for the Half

1976 S mint Half dollar is 40% silver... thats about the only reason to save it.

It can be either copper-nickel clad, or silver clad.

To answer the OP, they're not worth more than face value...sorry.

NO, exchange them for tangible goods forthwith.

A coworker of mine had a couple hundred dollars of them that he saved up thinking they might have collector value. After reading the value in one of the red coins books and finding out that mint condition coins were worth about 27 cents he took them into Silvertowne and bought some generic rounds. The lady at Silvertowne told him the would give him a quarter for each bicentenial. Hope that answers ur question.

I have a couple of sets that i got back a few years after '76. I have them as a novelty for (I hope) grandkids. Value? Maybe in a hundred years.

Check the prices on eBay. You can get big bucks for em there. Not so much anywhere else.

I notice this link

http://www.museumshop.com/gifts/item...585&siteId=342

For roman coins, minted anywhere from the 1rst to 4rth century. $9.95.

I have to think a penny invested over 400 years would be worth more than 10 bucks. Same deal with your quarters.

Actually this one is sterling (.925). You can see the US Mint mark .

I thought all SF minted Ikes were 40%? The P and D minted Ikes were all clad. Ikes can be confusing to me, just don't know enough about them, I guess.
